The Unity Theatre Collective  presents Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance Of Being Earnest” with a fresh take on Wilde’s comedy of errors, featuring gender swapping and a steampunk aesthetic.

June 21 – 30 Friday & Saturdays at 8 p.m. Sundays at 2 p.m.

Oscar Wilde’s most brilliant comedy tells the story of Algernon and Jack, who live in London and create elaborate deceptions to live double lives. Each of them is in love, and hilarity ensues when they both discover their lovers will only marry a person called “Ernest.” Featuring elaborate plot twists, mistaken identities, and a mysterious baby in a hand-bag, this timeless classic is not to be missed.

Unity Theatre Collective’s gender-swapped, steampunked version of the Oscar Wilde classic play questions gender identity in both the Victorian era and today.
