About Johnny Mercer
Mercer wrote over 1,500 songs many of which became standards. They include Moon River, You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby, Autumn Leaves, Dream, I Wanna Be Around, That Old Black Magic, Skylark, Blues in the Night, Something’s Gotta Give, I’m an Old Cowhand, Jeepers Creepers, My Shining Hour, Too Marvelous for Words, In the Cool Cool Cool of the Evening, Days of Wine and Roses, etc. He won four Oscars for best song and was nominated 14 other times. His songs have been recorded by hundreds of famous singers from Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland to Bette Midler and Bob Dylan.
