“Is It Art?” — an eclectic program of movement and drama that challenges as much as it entertains. There’s very little that’s typical about this performance. Choreographed by Devin Fulton with a cast of 23, it moves indoors and out, from the Museum of Ventura County event pavilion to the plaza and back again, with some movement among the audience, too.
To Dad With Love
Kiki Ebsen performs her tribute “To Dad With Love” about her father, Buddy Ebsen, on March 5, 2016. It’s wonderful multi-media storytelling that combines spoken word, live music, still imagery and home movies all served up with an ample dose of a daughter’s admiration, affection and adoration on a personal journey into one of Hollywood’s Acting Icons.
“Duets” is a Concert of Songs, Dances, and Whispers with variety of performances featuring Aloft Dancetheatre and Friends. “Duets” performed just hours before Valentine’s Day on February 13th, 2016 to an audience loyal to supporting local arts.
Filmed at the Namba Performing Arts Space in historic downtown Ventura, this episode is titled “Choreography Showcase” and features the brilliant skills of local talent performing a variety of dances. CLARA CRIES NUTS
The Premiere Episode is “Clara Cries Nuts”, performed on December 3, 4, 5, 2015 for sold-out audiences who support local arts programming in our community. The show is a brilliant parody of the holiday classic Ballet, “The Nutcracker” with quirky twists throughout and gracefully performed by ALOFT Dancetheatre, the resident dance company at the Namba Performing Arts Space.
Enjoy this very special performance presented by ALOFT Dancetheatre at a very private affair to honor our friend, Pamela Pilkenton. The ALOFT dancers pay tributes to many of Pam’s original choreography ~ with a twist.
In celebration for the Grand Opening of Namba Performing Arts Space, a variety show titled “The Launch” entertained a Standing Room Only capacity crowd. Dance, Song, Acting, Art, Video and Music offered in a delightfully diverse performance drew applause from an enthusiastic crowd who support local arts. “The Launch” was performed on March 27 & 28, 2015.
